Zeze Millz: the voice of contemporary culture

Videographer KC Locke has worked with the likes of AJ Tracey, Mahalia, and Meekz producing hit music videos for some of the best-loved songs and artists. But as with many creatives, Locke’s talents don’t begin and end in just one industry.
At the end of 2021, Locke launched Swords and Eagles, a collective of filmmakers, directors, producers, editors, and artists dedicated to creative thinking, innovative trend setting, and pushing boundaries within the industry. More than just an independent video maker, Manchester-based KC Locke is a leader set to revolutionise the sometimes stagnant film industry. The aim of Swords and Eagles is to create more than just a video for their client, but a whole world.
Locke was well on his way to making a name for himself as one of the best creatives in contemporary videography. His work has won Best Music Video in the Oniros Film Awards New York (2021), Tokyo International Short Film Festival (2021), and the New York International Film Awards (NYIFA, 2021).
As well as iconic music videos, KC Locke has worked with Reece Wabara’s fashion brand Maniere De Voir on seasonal campaigns, Love Island’s 2020 ‘Do One Winter’ commercial, and campaigns for Ruroc motorcycle helmets.
In 2020, KC Locke’s videos trended on Youtube four times in just two weeks. Having worked heavily with other Manchester artists, these hometown collaborations blew up in May 2020 when 30 by Aitch and Can’t Stop Won’t Stop by Meekz were two of the hottest videos around. It’s work like this that led KC Locke to more mainstream success, later filming the videos for Stormzy and Ed Sheeran’s Take Me Back to London (Remix) featuring Aitch, and Little Mix’s Sweet Melody.
But rather than moving away from the city, Locke has learned from these big production sets in London and further afield, and brought those skills back to Manchester. His goal now? To bring this high level production value into the city, so more blockbuster videos and films can be produced here.
And that’s where Swords and Eagles comes in. The company is named for the battle and the success signified by these two iconic symbols. KC Locke’s journey success has been impressive, but like all creatives, it’s the battles along the way that have been formative for his work. Now, working with a collective of trusted colleagues, we’re ready to see his work soar to new, even greater heights.
