Chik’n: bringing top quality fried chicken to the high street

Chik’n was launched with the aim to bring great quality chicken to the high street – a space that founders Carl and Dave felt was lacking. Having already successfully launched Chick’n’Sours in Dalston and Seven Dials, they stripped their fried chicken offering back to basics and lowered the price tag with it.

The result is, put simply, some of the best fried chicken you’ll find in London. From burgers to wings to plant based alternatives, these guys really know what they’re doing when it comes to good chicken.

What to expect from Chik’n London

Chik’n takes its inspiration from the kind of chicken shop you might find yourself in at the end of the night… in that it serves chicken. That’s where the resemblance ends. The founders felt that London needed fried chicken done right: raised ethically in the UK and cooked fresh to order, not shipped across the globe and sat to congeal under a heat lamp.

And with wings as cheap at £3.95 and burgers coming in at £6.50, it’s not like you have to pay a huge sum more for some straight up excellent fried chicken that’s actually good quality. Sure, sometimes when you just want some greasy chicken between your teeth the quality and health isn’t a top priority, but once you’ve tried Chik’n, you might be converted.

What you should know about Chik’n London

It’s not just me telling you that the best fried chicken in London can be found at Chik’n: Eater, The Evening Standard, and Time Out are among the big names that have awarded the brand for their food and price point.

The chicken is brined in buttermilk and fried under pressure for an extra crunchy coating that keeps you coming back for more. And wherever you are in London, you won’t be far from a branch. Chik’n is in Marylebone and Soho if you’re central, Islington for the North East contingent, and Acton, Wandsworth, and Battersea serving the South West.

Why you should go to Chik’n London

Do you like chicken? That’s the only reason you need to go to Chik’n. It’s the kind of meal you wolf down too fast and then spend the next week trying to figure out when you can go back for more. So if you need the encouragement, take it from me: it’s never too soon.

Chik’n is open from 11am until late.
